I don’t yet know which vehicle I’m going to buy.  Do I have to give you a registration number to get an insurance quote?


No.  We understand the process of buying a car, bike, or specialist vehicle.  Sometimes you will have a number of options and just want to get an indicative quote.  We’re available to help you. 
As soon as you’ve decided on a particular vehicle we will need to know the registration number in order to insure you.

How do I prove my ‘No Claims Discount’?

Generally you will need to have built up a no claims discount of at least 12 months on a vehicle insured in your name.  A good example of the proof we’ll need would be a renewal letter from your current insurer.  We can insure you before receiving this but you’ll have to send this evidence to us within 30 days for your insurance to remain valid.

Your  no claims discount will usually be acceptable as long as the expiry date of your last policy was within two years of the start of your new one. Some insurers require that there should be a smaller ‘gap in cover’ and some demand that to use your no claims discount, your new policy must start with them as soon as your last policy expires. Please check with Premium Choice if you are in any doubt, particularly if you are considering paying online as your policy may be invalid or subject to an increased premium.

If you have been driving a car as a named driver insured on someone else’s policy, such as a parent, friend, or employer, we can often take this into account when quoting you.  This can result in some big savings!  We can talk about this during the quotation process.
