Claiming Under Your Insurance
An insurance claim is generally not something anyone looks forward to with enthusiasm, particularly when it concerns a vehicle they need to use.
For most people it’s bad enough that they’ve been involved in an accident or suffered a loss of their car or motorbike, let alone having to face the prospect of making a claim to recover their insured losses.
We understand your concerns and will try to make the process as painless as possible.
Below we have tried to answer the questions we are often asked.
What is the first thing to do before making a claim?
Any claim is subject to the terms and conditions laid down in your insurance policy. After taking out insurance through Premium Choice, you will have received a Schedule and accompanying Policy terms and conditions document. The claims procedure varies according to the insurer. We recommend reading the Policy document as the first step.
What is the second thing I should do?
Premium Choice policyholders should call the Claims Department on 0845 674 0070. You can do this 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
How will my claim be dealt with?
This will obviously depend on the nature of the claim. Initially your Premium Choice Claims Advisor will confirm the level of cover you took out. He or she will then advise you what you are covered for.
We will then need to take some details from you to begin the process of recovering your losses.
What happens about repairs to my vehicle?
If you are involved in an accident and your vehicle is damaged you should always discuss this with us before committing to any expenditure with any repairer. Policies differ but in general you should assume that any costs you incur will have to be approved in advance by your insurer.
